YUM is abbreviated as Yellowdog Updater Modifier. The YUM is the Package installer for RHEL ( Red Hat Enterprise Linux) based Linux systems. This tutorial explains you how to install the online yum repositories.

List of Online YUM Repository are:

  • EPEL Repository
  • RPMforge Repository
  • REMI Repository
  • Webtatic Repository
  • ATrpms Repository

1. Install & Enable EPEL Repository

For RHEL / CentOS 7
On 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://epel.mirrors.arminco.com/beta/7/x86_64/epel-release-7-0.2.noarch.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux/ Oracle Linux 6
On 32 and 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://epel.mirror.net.in/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux/ Oracle Linux 5
On 32 and 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://epel.mirror.net.in/epel/5Server/x86_64/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm

2. Install & Enable RPMforge Repository

For RHEL / CentOS 7
On 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release 0.5.3-1.el7.rf.x86_64.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 6
On 32 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.i686.rpm
On 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 5
On 32 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://pkgs.repoforge.org/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.3-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm

3. Install & Enable REMI Repository

# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/remi/enterprise/7/remi/x86_64/remi-release-7.0-1.el7.remi.noarch.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 6
On 32 and 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/remi/enterprise/6.5/remi/x86_64/remi-release-6.5-1.el6.remi.noarch.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 5
On 32 and 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/remi/enterprise/5/remi/x86_64/remi-release-5.10-1.el5.remi.noarch.rpm

4. Install & Enable Webtatic Repository

For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux /Oracle Linux 6
On 32 and 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://mirror.webtatic.com/yum/el6/latest.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 5
On 32 and 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://repo.webtatic.com/yum/el5/latest.rpm

5. Install & Enable ATrpms Repository

For RHEL / CentOS 7
On 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://dl.atrpms.net/el7-x86_64/atrpms/stable/atrpms-repo-7-7.el7.x86_64.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 6
On 32 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://dl.atrpms.net/el6.9-i386/atrpms/stable/atrpms-repo-6-7.el6.i686.rpm
On 64 bit
# yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://dl.atrpms.net/el6.9-x86_64/atrpms/stable/atrpms-repo-6-7.el6.x86_64.rpm
For RHEL / CentOS / Scientific Linux / Oracle Linux 5
On 32 bit
