Hit on Get Started


Fill the name and email address and finally hit on submit


Finally Hit on Download


Accept the terms and conditions and hit on submit


Fill all the details and hit on submit


Now Download has started finally save the file for further procedures


Step-2 (Switch to the root user)

Sophos anti-virus must be installed with root account

[gopal@techbrown ~]$ su -
Step-3 (Extract the tar ball where the tarball is downloaded)
[root@techbrown ~]# tar -xzf /home/root/Downloads/sav-linux-free-9.tgz
Step-4 (Change the directory where the tarball is extracted.)
[root@techbrown ~]# cd /home/root/Downloads/sav-linux-free-9/
Step-5 (Install the Sophos Antivirus for Linux)

Update all the system

[root@techbrown ~]# yum update all

Run the installations script by following the instructions provided during the script is running.

[root@techbrown ~]# ./sophos-av/install.sh
Step-6 (Enable Sophos Antivirus Service and Activate Real Time Scanner)
[root@techbrown ~]# /etc/init.d/sav-protect start
[root@techbrown ~]# /opt/sophos-av/bin/savdctl enable
Step-7 (Start the On demand scanner for scanning the filesystems)

For scanning complete filesystem

[root@techbrown ~]# sweep /

For scanning Home directory only

[root@techbrown ~]# sweep /home/
