How to Install Bitdefender Antivirus Scanner on Ubuntu / Debian

Bitdefender is the known name for antivirus related security product. Bitdefender has one of the largest databases of anti malware in the world. It is one of the big name which have tons of security certifications.

As per Linux Experts Linux is the most Secured platform.

As Security Experts says It cannot be Secured platform until an antivirus is installed on respective Linux Platforms.

To overcome the problems. The real-time protection against the threats and security holes. The Security against latest threat. The scanning engine as well as Behavioural Protection modules have great value. We will install Bitdefender Antivirus Scanner on Ubuntu / Debian.

Step-I (Download the Packages)

First of all we will download the packages from official website.

# wget -c "http://download.bitdefender.com/SMB/Workstation_Security_and_Management/BitDefender_Antivirus_Scanner_for_Unices/Unix/Current/EN_FR_BR_RO/Linux/BitDefender-Antivirus-Scanner-7.6-4.linux-gcc4x.amd64.deb.run"
Step-II (Run the Scripts)

After that need to run the scripts to install the AV on respective systems.

# sh BitDefender-Antivirus-Scanner-7.6-4.linux-gcc4x.amd64.deb.run

Sample Output

Step-III ( Staring of BitDefender Antivirus Scanner)

Then A command line interface scanner provides great value.

# bdscan

Finally A graphical user interface scanner can be start using given command.

# bdgui
