Configure phpMyAdmin with MySQL on CentOS 7 / RHEL 7

What is phpMyAdmin?

phpMyAdmin is a Admin panel for MySQL based Database System it has been the most popular Admin Panel for MySQL or Maria-db Database server. that is written using php programming language hence it is called as phpMyAdmin.

Configure phpMyAdmin with MySQL on CentOS/RHEL/Scientific/Oracle Linux 7/6/5

Step-I (Download of phpMyAdmin)
# wget http://kaz.dl.sourceforge.net/project/phpmyadmin/phpMyAdmin/4.2.7/phpMyAdmin-4.2.7-all-languages.tar.gz
Step-II (Extract the downloaded tarball archives)
# tar -zxvf phpMyAdmin-4.2.7-all-languages.tar.gz
Step-III (Move to the extracted phpMyAdmin folder to the www directory)
# mv /phpMyAdmin-4.2.7-all-languages/* /var/www/html/phpMyAdmin/
Step-IV (Installation of PHP and PHP-MySQL)
# yum install php-mysql
# yum install php
Step-V (Restart the mysqld and httpd Services)
# service mysqld restart
# service httpd restart
Step-VI (Configure the phpMyAdmin)
# cd /var/www/html/phpMyAdmin/
# cp config.sample.inc.php config.inc.php
# vi config.inc.php
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'cookie';
$cfg['blowfish_secret'] = 'auth_type';
Step-VII (Install the php-mcrypt)
# yum install php-mcrypt
Step-VIII ( Login to the phpMyAdmin portal by opening Web browser)

from web browser visit : http://www.yoursite.com/phpMyAdmin/
