Bash Script to Install LDAP on CentOS 7

How to Install & Configure LDAP using Script on CentOS 7. LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Authentication Protocol. In this tutorial we have LDAP scripts for CentOS 7 distro only. LDAP can be installed and configure automatically by using the given scripts automatically and effectively. We thanks the developer of LDAP scripts for done this complex things so easy. Thats why we are going to install LDAP with ease. One this you should consider while performing this steps you need to keep your eyes on tutorial steps and on scripts that is running on Terminal.

Pre Required Dependencies for LDAP

Step-1 (Connect to the Internet)

Connect your CentOS to connect the internet need working Internet Connection

Step-2 (Upgrade the CentOS 7)

Need Updated CentOS 7 with all packages are upgraded to latest versions.

# yum upgrade -y

LDAP Server

Now go to LDAP Server side and run the given commands on Terminal

Method-I (Download and run the LDAP server script)

Download the Manager.ldif file

# wget https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap/blob/master/manager.ldif

Download the LDAP server script

# wget https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap/blob/master/server.sh

Run the LDAP server script

# bash server.sh
OR
# sh server.sh
Method-II (Clone and run the LDAP server script)
# yum install git -y
# git clone https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap && bash ldap/server.sh
OR
# git clone https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap && sh ldap/server.sh

Note: Additional file manager.ldif can be located at ldap/manager.ldif you can check it from ldap base directory.

LDAP Client

Now go to LDAP Client side and run the given commands on Terminal

Method-I (Download and run the LDAP client script)
# wget https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap/blob/master/client.sh
# bash client.sh
OR
# sh client.sh
Method-II (Clone and run the LDAP client script)
# yum install git -y
# git clone https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap && bash ldap/client.sh
OR
# git clone https://github.com/laboshinl/ldap && sh ldap/client.sh

Final Words
